She defined herself as an artist in sunny Tucson Arizona during her time at the University of Arizona. There she used her love of color, nature, and her emotional state to create noteworthy paintings, video art, sculptures, and more.
Sequoia is fascinated by the processes that convert matter from one state to another. She is continuously seeking answers from the outside world. She marvels at how nature informs us on how to create materials for our everyday life. Asking questions like, how is it that genetic and cultural knowledge is passed from one generation to the next? How is it that materials are constantly being redefined? This ravenous questioning of life, matter, and soul is key to her work and characterizes the essence of her artistic style.
